FOTONA LASER TREATMENTS
Fotona NightLase® Laser Snoring Treatment in Las Vegas
Quieter Nights. Better Sleep.
A NON-SURGICAL LASER TREATMENT THAT TIGHTENS THE TISSUE BEHIND SNORING. NO DEVICES, NO SURGERY, NO DOWNTIME.
Snoring is more than an annoyance. It disrupts your sleep, your partner’s sleep, and often your relationship with bedtime itself. Most solutions are either uncomfortable (mouth guards, CPAP) or invasive (surgery). Fotona NightLase takes a different approach. Dr. Sassan Kaveh uses Fotona’s Er:YAG laser to gently heat and tighten the soft tissue at the back of the throat, so the airway is less likely to collapse and vibrate while you sleep.
What is Fotona NightLase?
Fotona NightLase is a non-surgical, non-ablative laser treatment for snoring. It uses Fotona’s Er:YAG laser in its patented SMOOTH® mode to deliver controlled heat to the oral mucosa, the soft tissue lining the back of the mouth and throat, particularly around the soft palate.
Snoring happens when relaxed soft tissue in the throat narrows the airway and vibrates as air passes through. NightLase targets that tissue directly. Nothing is cut and no tissue is removed.
How Does Fotona NightLase Work?
The treatment works in two stages:
Controlled warming. The laser gradually heats the soft tissue of the palate and throat without damaging the surface.
Its effectiveness for snoring has been studied in a randomized controlled trial of the NightLase protocol.
Tissue tightening. That heat causes collagen in the tissue to contract and stimulates the formation of new collagen. As the tissue firms, it is less likely to sag into the airway and vibrate during sleep.
The protocol is typically three to five sessions, spaced about three weeks apart. Some patients benefit from an annual maintenance session to keep the result.
Why Choose Fotona NightLase at Alpha Medical Aesthetics?
Snoring can be a simple nuisance, or it can be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, a medical condition that needs proper diagnosis. That distinction matters before any treatment begins.
At Alpha Medical Aesthetics, every Fotona NightLase patient is evaluated by Dr. Kaveh, who brings 25+ years of medical experience to the decision. If your symptoms suggest sleep apnea, we’ll tell you and recommend a sleep evaluation first, not just sell you a laser.
Every Fotona treatment at our Las Vegas clinic is overseen by Dr. Sassan Kaveh, who completed hands-on manufacturer training on the Fotona® SP Dynamis Max laser system. See his training and credentials →
What to Expect During a Fotona NightLase Treatment
Your Fotona NightLase experience at Alpha Medical Aesthetics includes:
- Consultation: Dr. Kaveh reviews your snoring history, sleep quality, and overall health, and screens for signs of sleep apnea. If you have had a sleep study, bring the results.
- Preparation: You’ll sit comfortably in the treatment chair with protective eyewear. No injections or anesthesia are needed.
- Treatment: The laser is applied to the soft palate and surrounding tissue at the back of the mouth. Most patients describe a mild warmth, similar to sipping hot tea.
- Duration: Typically [confirm: about 20–30 minutes].
There is no downtime. You can eat, drink, and return to normal activities right away.
The Benefits of Fotona NightLase
- Non-surgical, with no cutting, no stitches, and no tissue removal.
- No anesthesia or injections required.
- No downtime. Return to your day immediately.
- Helps reduce snoring and improve sleep quality.
- No mouth guard or device to wear at night.
- A comfortable, well-tolerated treatment.
- Stimulates your body’s own collagen to firm the tissue.
- An option for patients who can’t tolerate oral appliances or C-PAP machines.
Is Fotona NightLase Right for You?
Fotona NightLase treatment is a good option for people who:
- Snore regularly, and whose snoring disturbs their own or a partner’s sleep.
- Have tried mouth guards or oral appliances and found them uncomfortable.
- Want to avoid surgery.
- Want a treatment with no downtime.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends a medical evaluation for loud, frequent snoring, since it can be a sign of sleep apnea.
It may not be suitable for:
- Patients with diagnosed or suspected moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea that hasn’t been evaluated by a sleep specialist.
- Patients with an active infection or open sores in the mouth or throat.
- Patients who are pregnant.
- Anyone taking photosensitizing medications.
Results vary from patient to patient. Many notice an improvement after the first session, and the full benefit builds over the complete series. NightLase is not a treatment for sleep apnea on its own. If you stop breathing during sleep, wake up gasping, or feel exhausted despite a full night’s sleep, talk to us about a sleep evaluation first.
