Here is an overview of skin conditions we treat and the innovative methods we use:

Age Spots

Age Spots

Also known as liver spots or solar lentigines, these flat, pigmented spots appear on sun-exposed areas like the face, hands, shoulders, and arms. Though harmless, many seek treatment for cosmetic reasons. Recommended Treatments:

  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
  • Non Ablative ResurFX
  • Q-Switched Laser
  • Chemical Peels

Suggested Treatment: IPL therapy is a popular and effective option for reducing age spots.

Acne Scars

Acne Scars

Acne scars result from inflammation within the dermis. Lasers can resurface the skin, encouraging collagen production to restore smoother skin.

Suggested Treatment: Clear Your Acnes by our unique IPL treatment.

Café-au-lait Spots

Café-au-lait Spots

Café-au-lait spots (CAL spots) are pigmented skin lesions characterized by flat, well-defined patches that are typically light to dark brown in color. These spots can vary in size and may be present at birth or develop in early childhood. These pigmented skin lesions can be lightened effectively using laser therapy, providing a more even skin tone.

Suggested Treatment: Q-Switched Laser therapy is ideal for reducing the appearance of café-au-lait spots.

Dyschromia

Dyschromia

Refers to skin discoloration or uneven pigmentation, which can manifest as hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) or hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin). Treatment for dyschromia depends on the underlying cause and the specific type of pigmentation disorder. Various laser technologies, such as resurFX lasers or Q-switched lasers, can target pigment in the skin and help improve dyschromia. These are often used for conditions like melasma or sun-induced hyperpigmentation. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is effective for addressing sunspots, age spots, and other pigmentation issues.

Suggested Treatment: ResurFX Therapy is highly effective for addressing dyschromia.

Freckles

Freckles

These are small, pigmented spots on the skin that are usually tan or light brown. They are often a result of sun exposure and are more common in individuals with fair skin. While freckles are generally harmless, some people may seek treatment for cosmetic reasons. Various laser technologies, such as Q-switched lasers, can target pigment in the skin and break down melanin, leading to a reduction in freckles.

Suggested Treatment: Q-Switched Laser therapy is recommended to reduce freckles.

Body and facial hair

Body and facial hair

We offer advanced laser hair removal to reduce or eliminate unwanted hair from various parts of the body.

Suggested Treatment: Laser hair removal using SplendorX technology is a proven method for long-term results.

Spider Veins, Broken capillaries and telangiectasias

Spider Veins, Broken capillaries and telangiectasias

Spider veins are small, thin, visible blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin. They are typically red, blue, or purple and may resemble a spider web or tree branches, hence the name. Spider veins are usually found on the legs or face and are more of a cosmetic concern than a medical one, though they can sometimes indicate underlying venous issues. Broken capillaries are tiny, dilated blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin. They are also known as telangiectasias and often look like fine red, purple, or blue lines.

  • We use Sclerotherapy: A minimally invasive procedure where a solution is injected into the spider veins, causing them to collapse and fade over time.
  • Laser Therapy: Non-invasive lasers target and heat the spider veins, causing them to seal and disappear.
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): Uses light energy to target the pigments in spider veins, encouraging them to fade.
  • Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser: is an advanced medical laser that emits a near-infrared wavelength, designed to penetrate deeply into the skin. This versatile laser is absorbed by hemoglobin and melanin chromophores, making it ideal for treating vascular conditions such as spider veins and other skin concerns.

Suggested Treatment: Long Pulse Nd:Yag is the best choice for reducing spider veins, telangiectasias, and broken capillaries.

Rosacea and Redness

Rosacea and Redness

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that primarily affects the face, causing redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes acne-like bumps. It often flares up periodically, with episodes triggered by environmental or lifestyle factors.

Suggested Treatment: Long Pulse Nd:Yag is the best choice for reducing rosacea and port-wine stains.

Vascular Lesions

Vascular Lesions

Vascular lesions are abnormal blood vessels or clusters of blood vessels visible on or just beneath the skin. These can range from benign cosmetic issues to more complex conditions.

Types of Vascular Lesions

Hemangiomas
1. Hemangiomas

Hemangiomas are benign (non-cancerous) growths of blood vessels that appear on or under the skin. They are typically red, purple, or bluish in color and may vary in size and shape. Hemangiomas are often referred to as strawberry marks due to their characteristic appearance.

Cherry Angiomas
2. Cherry Angiomas

Small, red, benign lesions that form due to clustering of capillaries.

Suggested Treatment: Long Pulse Nd:Yag is the best choice for superficial hemangiomas and cherry angiomas.

Lentigines

Lentigines

These are caused by an accumulation of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) in the skin. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun or tanning beds is a primary factor in their development. Lentigines can be treated with:

  • Laser Therapy
  • Chemical Peels

Consultation with our physician ensures proper diagnosis and treatment.

Suggested Treatment: Chemical peels are excellent for treating lentigines.

Keratosis

Keratosis

Common in older adults, keratosis appears as waxy or tan spots. It refers to a group of skin conditions characterized by the overgrowth or thickening of the skin's outer layer, known as the epidermis. These growths can appear as rough, scaly, or waxy patches and are generally harmless, though some forms may require medical evaluation.

These benign growths can be removed for cosmetic reasons. Treatments vary depending on the type of this skin condition but includes:

  • Cryotherapy: Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze and remove growths like actinic keratosis or seborrheic keratosis.
  • Laser Therapy: Targets and removes abnormal skin cells while promoting smoother, healthier skin.
Chemical Peels: Exfoliates the skin's outer layers, reducing rough patches.
  • ResurFX: actThe non ablative ResurFX is ideal for addressing the uneven tone.

Suggested Treatment: ResurFX Laser Therapy can effectively remove keratosis spots.

Nevi (Moles)

Nevi (Moles)

A nevus, commonly known as a mole, is a growth on the skin that results from a cluster of pigment cells (melanocytes). Moles can vary in appearance, and most are harmless. Certain types of moles, particularly smaller and non-cancerous ones, may be treated with laser therapy. This method uses a laser to break down the pigment in the non-cancerous moles , causing it to fade over time offering a cosmetic solution.

Suggested Treatment: Laser Therapy is a safe and effective method for mole reduction.

Port Wine Stains

Port Wine Stains

Port wine stains (PWS) are vascular birthmarks that appear as pink to dark red discolorations on the skin. They are caused by an abnormal formation of blood vessels and are usually present at birth. Several treatment options are available for port wine stain removal or reduction. Laser treatment is the most common and effective method for reducing or removing port wine stains. The laser targets the blood vessels in the birthmark, causing them to coagulate and gradually fade over a series of sessions. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve the desired results. Similar to laser therapy, IPL uses pulses of light to target blood vessels in the port wine stain. It can be an alternative or complementary treatment to laser therapy.

Suggested Treatment: Long Pulse Nd:Yag is the gold standard treatment for port wine stains.

Scars

Scars

We use laser technology to enhance the appearance of scars, including surgical and hypertrophic scars. Depending on the scar we use either the non ablative ResurFX or the Ablative ULTRAPulse Alpha CO2 laser.

Suggested Treatment: ResurFX Laser Therapy is ideal for scar reduction.

Sun Spots

Sun Spots

Sun spots, also known as solar lentigines or age spots, are flat, pigmented areas on the skin that result from prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. These spots are harmless but are often considered cosmetically undesirable due to their dark, uneven appearance.

At Alpha Medical Aesthetics, we offer advanced treatments to lighten and reduce the appearance of sun spots, including:

  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): Targets the pigment in the spots, breaking it down and fading discoloration over time.
  • Q-Switched Laser Therapy: Precisely targets and removes melanin clusters, minimizing pigmentation.
  • Fractional Laser Resurfacing: Improves overall skin texture while addressing sun spots.
  • Chemical Peels: Exfoliates the skin’s surface layers to reveal brighter, more even-toned skin.

Suggested Treatment: IPL therapy is a trusted option for diminishing sunspots.

Warts

Warts

Warts are common skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Lasers can be used to target and destroy blood vessels feeding the wart, causing it to die and fall off.

Suggested Treatment: Long Pulse Nd:Yag Laser is effective for eliminating stubborn warts.

Sagging Skin

Sagging Skin

Sagging skin is a common concern as the skin loses its firmness and elasticity over time. It can occur anywhere on the body, but is most noticeable on the face, neck, arms, and abdomen. While sagging skin is a natural part of aging, other factors can accelerate or worsen its appearance.

RF Tripollar and Microneedling devices stimulate collagen production, providing non-surgical skin tightening and improved elasticity.

Suggested Treatment: RF Tripollar skin tightening is an excellent choice for youthful firmness.

Fungal Infections of Nails

Fungal Infections of Nails

Toenail fungus, medically known as onychomycosis, is a common fungal infection that affects the toenails, causing discoloration, thickening, and brittleness. It can occur in one or more nails and may spread if left untreated.

Laser therapy heats and kills the fungus on contact, ensuring effective removal and healthier nails.

Suggested Treatment: SplendorX Laser Nail Fungus Treatment is highly effective for fungal infections.
